Day 15.1: Next?

I suggested staying the night within the protection of the circle as I wasn’t sure we’d be able to get back into the lab if we left as well as it would 1) keep the fey away and 2) keep the nightmares away (because you know they are coming…) Using the [HAG STONE] we picked up I was able to tell when the Fey shadow got bored and left. We spend a blissful undisturbed night asleep. (Don’t know how to set one of these circles up, but gonna learn!)

Rested, the party moves to search the final room of the lab. What we find – is disturbing. A young girl is trapped in a 10-pts star surrounded by candles, exactly like Andre Dragfry was. Within the candles a smoky darkness of motes seems to coalesce then dissipate. Mutu, seeing someone in trouble rushes in (sigh) and the darkness immediately grasps him. Although Mutu doesn’t recognize what this is, I do – an Ectoplasmic shadow bound to protect something. With all the various items we have collected, I am able to disperse the shadows and release Mutu. Charles using his Dreamland lore recognizes she is being drained like all the other children. Mutu tried to remove her, but the circle binds her in place. Diane comes up with the brilliant idea to make science trump magic!

Using an iron bar and wires we collected, we make a makeshift magnet. Placing it on one side of the circle, I zap it with my lighting spell and it yanks all the iron dust out of the circle and Mutu can finally pull the girl free. A wave of power and black motes expands from the broken circle through and around us leaving an off-balance sensation behind (like I’m drunk without all the fun). Similar to handling the black sand but at a MUCH more intense level. (That’s gonna leave a mark…)

The girl is unconscious, like the others, but Mutu & Charles healing her removes the burns, calms her, and does seem to help, although she remains unconscious. The Eidolon notices a crest of Telekis which marks her as one of the 5 families, and my bet is she is the youngest child. Looking at our map, we decide taking her to her house would be a bad idea as it lies along one of  the power lines. The party decides taking her to Dr. Ritalsin would be our best choice and it was close by. The Dr. confirms she is [VOLETTA TELEKIS] the youngest Telekis child.  We tell him of Andre Dragfry and the Dr. agreed to check with authorities to see what became of him. Diana & the Dr. talk the rest of the night away. I rest.

The party decides in the morning to check out the Cairn of Whispering Shadows. The day is overcast (of course). We find 3 burial chambers and a pissed off, undead, Whispering Lady. She yelled many things at us

“Betrayers of the Lost Echos”, “Unravelers of the threads of Nod”, something about “Broken Dreams” (I missed that one) and “Menders of the Midnight Tapestry, Beware” (this seems different from the rest).

The wail she then let loose promptly immobilized everyone – except Charl
