Day 31.6: Out of the Box
The watcher – now a large menacing cape- reaches out one are as if beaconing with a magnetic pill. As Diana tells the party what Him soul ferrying learned – that Fulbright’s death released something. The cultivated hand that we read about in the lab notes, fed black sand and dream energy. A creature to be used against the King of Yellow to help release Ossoyo.
The compulsion must have gotten to Mutu as he stumbles towards the Watcher ‘s hand, Him stops him and Kiren notices the eyes still moved within the figure. Sounding the warning, the group realizes this must be a haunt as Charles wasn’t glowing. Diana cast out the spirit. The cape seems to be able to break the veil between the real world and dream world – allowing a person to become a dream walker. The cape is cursed. Diana decides to store it in a dimensional bag until she can break the curse. The cape could be immensely useful to the party.
Checking out the 3d city the architecture is impossible, with 6 obsidian spires. No one seems to know what it is.
Loud thumping shakes the room coming from nearby. Um…I think the thing released might, well be released and trying to get out. I think the room that we decided was a later problem…just became later.
The area where once was a creature suspended by 8 chains in a binding circle, now was filled with a swirl of black sand swirling within an orb, the 8 chains now slack on the floor. Kiren sneaks in to find what was there. The invisible creature a huge monstrosity who became visible to strike out at Kiren, the hit stealing part of her lifeforce through void damage. Mutu and Him can see it and flank to attack. Charles, warms up with a fireball 😉. Kiren decides to make the thing stay visible-which she does- but at the cost of being confused by it. Ritalsin’s monstrosity attacks Mutu with solid hits. Kiren, confused, mistakes Charles as an enemy and lashes out with a fire spell, but does also attack the monster. The party continue their attacks, until Mutu is compelled to dance with a single side of hitting. Charles looses a Shadow Blast at the creature – also hitting Kiren – well tried to hit Kiren and failed – but it was enough to knock her out of the confusion. The party continues to try (I stress that word as most were not effective) while Charles stands back and uses the “Bitch Slap of Death” on the creature eventually allowing Mutu to destroy it. Leaving both Kiren and Him with lifeforce depletions. Charlse assures them he can cure it.
The writing Kiren was able to decipher [Aklo language] talks of the 3-eyes dreamer – Ossuary of Living Tides.
I need a damn nap…
