Day 28

Down the hallway, there was a glowing sigil above an archway. Both Mutu and Diana were able to identify it as Degas. A rune of transformation a turning point. Kiren stealthily spied two skeletons beyond the archway. The skeletons did not appear to notice or move. Further down the hallway, there is a nightmarish tableau along with an altar. The party slowly moves forward, but as Charles less then stealthily enters the large room a spine chilling sensation, one of impending doom courses through the poor cleric.

“I told your mistress already that I have passed along her offer and he has agreed. The southeast chamber has been set up for you to perform your ritual with the child. My part in this is done,” came a weak a shaky voice from another room. A woman, who had fiery red hair and appeared to be withering away continued, “Unless she wants to have more information about the City of Nod.” The woman appeared to be shimmery or displaced perhaps. Kiren and the woman try to converse. She mentions gossamer and wants to have it. Agatha, the woman, is willing to trade information for a price. She then notices Geist and the room suddenly starts to grow deadly cold. Agatha lashes out. Mutu tells the party to run, while the Eidolon tripped her. Charles notices some glowing beads sitting on the altar. Agatha lashed out at the Eidolon and obliterated it, crushing Diana too. Kiren grabbed Diana and dragged her towards the door. Charles grabbed the beads off the altar. He hoped that this might slow or be something that could be traded to Agatha for their freedom if necessary and then ran outside. While the party gets outside. Mutu healed Diana. The party blocked the door in an attempt to delay Agatha from coming after them. The party flees from the cairn and enters an empty building in the poor side of town.

Unfortunately, the beads are just holy prayer beads. Useful yes, but nothing that Agatha might want to trade information for to get back. Geist provided some information about Agatha. He knew her several centuries ago. She was an associate of Witherleaf. She delved into secrets of nightmares. She was removed before Geist and he lost track of her. Gossamer, the dream sand, may be siphoned off the children. The party decided to visit Dr. Ritalsin to see what he may have found with his investigations.

Dr. Ritalsin is found testing the pen with different animals. Charles and Diana may have caught some glimses of his notes. Kiren tells Ritalsin about Agatha, Witherleaf, and the fey. The party looked in on Voleta. Mutu lays on hands, with no more affect on the poor girl. With closer inspection, there appeared to be a tattoo on her lips that made it look like she had her mouth sewn shut. The aire around her head was shimmery or faintly odd around her head. Kiren checked the area by looking through her hagstone. She noticed that strands of gossamer were being pulled off of her. The party tried to recreate the protective ring, similar to the one they found in the study of Bethlen’s workshop where the party was not affected by the fey. Kiren noted that the gossamer was contained within the area. One of the servants also had gossamer coming off of them as well.
