Day 25.1: Down the rabbit hole

A creature appears, constructed of what looks like words [Lextant]

Mutu remembers something (it a weakness to fire)

Speak the words or Strike the Blood

Mutu can understand the words so reads them out loud – the words unwind and everything stops. We feel something unlock as it goes BLACK.

We find ourselves in… well a library. Long hallways running NW/NE. A large rock creature to NE and some kind of glowing portal. Immediately to our left and internal flame burns and an undead skeletal scholar steps out. Rude, Arrogant, and Undead. Ticks ALL the party’s boxes. (get um boys!) Being undead, he hasn’t a chance with this crew, so I get to indulge my murderous proclivities with glee.

I quickly work to slap the snide look off his skull. He decides he has to time for us “peasants” and releases his Children: Ignorance & Want and a chain lightning blast, which I quickly sidestep.

The party systematically take Mr. Rude apart With Charles showing him the light of his wrongdoing. The children suffer the same fate, with Diana & Him putting the final death stamp on Want and Kiren wiping out Ignorance. Him then transports the two souls of the children to their rest. Turns out Nick had no soul (big surprise).

In the aftermath a scholar come near us and scolds us for making noise. Claim we will be removed or our library cards will be revoked if any further outburst disrupt the patrons.

Kiren asks the creature for information and directions to the items they are looking for.

We move left (since that seems to be the way we need to go, and come to a file cabinet blocking the way. Within it we find a map of the library. 4 squares of levels, with a circle within the very center of the library. Okaaaaay? guess that helps.

Moving up the hallway, Him finds an…entrance? to the next level through a archway (no real discernable opening but hey it works)

We seem to be in the Arcane section, filled with shadow infused energies. We look for marking/words and try to find the book we need. Charles brings up, what if we do find it? We don’t have library cards do we?

For once, could things be easy??
