Exploring Lepidstadt University’s Sorting Labyrinth
Summary of Events (1/26/2025):
In the silent depths beneath Lepidstadt University, our stalwart band faced a tangle of choices in these dim corridors. At one junction, where low lamps and magical glows flickered among careless heaps of books, four rooms beckoned—each crowded with restless tomes and scribbling quills floating on their own accord. With every page that took form, a quiet hum of ghostly energy rippled through the stale air.
Kiren, in a moment of unguarded curiosity, seized a freshly written parchment from one such quill. At once, the spirits that guided these rooms reared up in fury—pages ripped themselves free from old spines, weaving dreadful paper effigies to assail our heroes. Though victorious, they all bore painful paper cuts for their trouble, each wound a stinging reminder of how jealously these guardians protected their domain.
Meanwhile, Mutu, Charles and Diana sought a gentler approach in the other three rooms, entreating the spirits for permission to aid in sorting. Thus did they discover forbidden volumes abandoned to this subterranean realm: Rachkastein’s Bestiarum der Verblich and Der Spiegel der Endlosen Spirale—their spines marked to remain forever hidden from mortal eyes. Diana claimed another tome, Die Mechanica Vitae, before the group continued south.
Their passage led them to a stuck door, which Kiren deftly coaxed open—revealing a most unexpected sight: a mummified librarian, long dead yet chained to his vocation, toiling alongside a clattering automaton. Mutu and Charles, wary but peaceable, stayed their steel and divine fires, only for Diana, outraged by this denial of the afterlife’s call, to spur HIM forward—intent on delivering final judgment to the librarian who dared continue his tasks beyond mortal breath.
