First Day

Brought in to meeting with other gate walkers. Dr and his flighty assistant (Professor Sabine von Wriedt) discuss if we can be considered for entrance into their organization of gate investigators. We are to be sent to check on a possible gate and odd sightings in the town of Polana <sp?>. Room and board to be covered by the doctor along with burial expenses. Payment of 10 gold to the party prior to the trip and something to be discussed after.

On the way to Polana, the team was attacked at night during Thulnir’s watch. We defeated a single man-bat and a swarm of vampire bats. A few checks completed suggest this was a were-creature and could have transferred the complex to others with a successful strike. The moon was full on the night of the attack. These animals have a weakness towards silver. The remainder of the trip was uneventful.

Enter the town and head to the tavern, which was based off the information provided by the good doctor.

Red Wolf Inn – Lupa Rosa Inn. Across the door frame reads the inscription: “Garlic between my eyes to protect me from the evil eye” along with garlic attached. Garlic check may prove to be a beneficial protection against some monsters.

As we enter the tavern and go right we meet Nicolae the tavern owner. He speaks of the Beast of Dunkervald. Red, smoky, engulfs victims in smoke. People work the woods and lands Baugaurner & Peaterus Mercantile Partnership stopped because of the beast. Nicolae bought the inn about 5 years back.

He mentions people in the room to the left:

• Giles behind the bar

• Ana daughter of Nicolae

The team begins to spend special coins earned from Nicolae. While I mention to Giles the idea that the doctor was paying for our room and board. Ana leaves to confirm as I ask for her to cook her signature lunch.
