7 – Alliances
There was a creature feeding on the gossamer of a local shopkeep. No one untouched by the black sand was able to see the creature, but it was powerful. We were able to severe its connection to this world through force, but the shopkeep and his granddaughter were shocked at our actions.
I don’t remember why we were on our way to see Moria, but a representative of the Withering Man attempted to intercept us on the way and get us to side with him over Moria. When we didn’t immediately accept his terms, some dream mosquitoes appeared and delayed us on our trip.
Moria offerred accetable terms and asked us to join her in her realm, where she offered us guaranteed safety from her and her people as well as protection against intruders. She boasted that nothing has been able to breach her realm in 5000 days, which was rather embarrassing when 3 pollen golems appeared and attacked us.
Moria was pissed at the intrusion and let slip that she thinks a female named Witherbloom was to blame. Geist composed a sonnet about the relationship between Moria and Witherbloom and was read by Kiren.
When we got back to Lepsitadt, a powerful undead creature that claimed to be a contractor for the Withering Man was all too excited to attack us. About halfway through the battle, she summoned in 8 fey creatures that attacked us from range. Things were not looking good.
We survived, but the powerful entity that calls herself Jenny Dreadful wounded us greatly. Kiren’s sight was taken for some time, but Charles thinks it will return with rest.
I feel myself growing powerful with the Dawnflower’s favor. Sarenrae’s light fills my sword and I’ve learned a new technique to protest myself.
